3. OBJECTIVES

k)

"To establish and encourage, training and qualifications for judging, instructing and lifesaving

(In particular those courses which are approved by bodies such as the SSF, SportScotland, UKPST, ISA, ASP, BSA, RNLI and the RLSS)"

4. MEMBERSHIP

9 &10:

To be eligible to compete in the Scottish Surfing Championships or to be eligible for selection into Scotland's national squad a candidate must meet the following requirements:

1) Must be a current member of the Scottish Surfing Federation

2) hold, or be eligible to hold, a UK passport

3)

i) Have been born in Scotland or have one or both parents who were born in Scotland or
ii) Have lived in Scotland for 5 consecutive years immediately prior to competition or selection or
iii) Have competed in the Scottish Championships previously at U18 level
4) have never competed in the National Championships of another country or participated for the team of another country in competition

5) Evidence of any of the above requirements maybe required prior to being allowed to compete. Examples of evidence which may be requested are:

i) a UK passport
ii) council tax bills as proof of your residency in Scotland for >5yrs
iii) a birth certificate

At U18 Level, to be eligible to compete in the Scottish Surfing Junior Championships or to be eligible for selection into Scotland's national Junior squad a candidate must meet the following requirements:

1) Must be a current member of the Scottish Surfing Federation

2) be U18 on the 1st of January of that particular year

3)

i) be currently attending a school in Scotland or
ii) have attended a school in Scotland for a minimum of 2 years

4)

i) Current residence in Scotland or
ii) Hold a UK passport
